”…creating a culture of readers"Teachers and educational leaders in Gondar have expressed a desire for creating a culture of readers by exposing their students to the written word.
Current Project Update: Book Donation and Training
This project consisted of supplying bilingual early readers, some requested academic books and teacher training. CSCA-Gondar Council collaborated with the following two partners.
Open Hearts Big Dreams (https://openheartsbigdreams.org/ ) distributed bilingual early readers (on right) to the schools in this project. Together We Learn (https://twlethiopia.org/), our sister city partner in Gondar, distributed these books to local school libraries.

Number of Schools Participating: 8
Number of participants: 32 participants (16 teachers, 8 directors, 7 librarians and a local education office delegate from Gondar City)
Amount of books donated: 1,200 plus books (50 titles)
Amount of academic books donated: 815 academic books
