Books for Gondar

”…creating a culture of readers"

Teachers and educational leaders in Gondar have expressed a desire for creating a culture of readers by exposing their students to the written word.

Current Project Update: Book Donation and Training

This project  consisted of supplying bilingual early readers, some requested academic books and teacher training.  CSCA-Gondar Council collaborated with the following two partners.

Open Hearts Big Dreams (https://openheartsbigdreams.org/ ) distributed bilingual early readers (on right) to the schools in this project. Together We Learn (https://twlethiopia.org/), our sister city partner in Gondar, distributed these books to local school libraries.

Visit and peruse the gallery of pictures sent to us from Gondar showing the range of usage of these books and the priority that these schools are giving to the importance of readings
