“Walk for Water” is an every other year event.
In this year of 2024, we are excited to host again “Walk for Water, 2024” event.
Walk for Water is organized to increase awareness about the lack of access to clean drinking water in our sister city of Gondar, Ethiopia, and to raise money to continue our efforts to promote the construction of wells that can truly provide clean water to people in the rural areas of Gondar.
The walk consists of a 5 km. walk (about 3 miles) — the average distance many people in Gondar, and throughout Ethiopia (mostly girls and women) walk to get water daily, as they have no running water in their homes.To learn a bit more about the importance of water and the value of wells in peoples’ lives, we provide you with three activities to increase your knowledge of water:
